Tortola
B.V.I. September 23, 08-Beautiful Kathiel Lampson was placed among the
top ten of the most beautiful and talented young ladies from the Caribbean
at the 2008 Miss Caribbean Beauty pageant held on September 20th
2008 at the multipurpose complex in Tortola B.V.I.
On Thursday September 18th
Governor David Pearey hosted a welcome reception for the delegates who
competed in the 4th annual Miss Caribbean Beauty pageant. The
following day the contestants were given a tour of the island and they all
had the opportunity to go shopping in the downtown area. Later that
evening the delegates took part in a motorcade followed by a reception
hosted under the auspices of Premier Ralph O’Neal where the contestants
were judged in their personal interview.
Lampson shines as she
responded as to why she would like to meet with President Daniel Ortega.
“I would like the opportunity to meet with my President Daniel Ortega to
discuss the dire situation of the underprivileged kids on the Caribbean
coast and the entire Nicaragua. I would like for us to work together to
find a solution to this critical situation.” she stated. Lampson was very
passionate about her cause that it drew the attention of those in
attendance and received warm well wishes.
Kathiel exude true beauty
as she worked the stage once again giving Nicaragua a strong
representation in the Caribbean. She was angel-like wearing a beautiful
white dress designed by a Nicaraguan designer. The dress shows off her
silhouette as she walked on stage and proudly pronounced to the B.V.I.
audience that she was representing the land of lakes and volcanoes,
multicultural and multiethnic people “Nicaragua”
She was spectacular in
only her third international representation. Lampson demonstrated charm,
poised, intelligence and beauty throughout the entire show. For her
swimsuit segment she wore a blue and white two piece swimsuit representing
the colors of the National flag of Nicaragua. The white stripe represents
the Nicaraguan territory and symbolizes her virtue and purity, and the two
blue stripes represents the water of the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean
Sea, which embraces the shores of her neighboring countries.
Kathiel paraded her costume to the sweet sound
of "Le Lolly Lolly" written specially for this segment by Bill Campbell of
World Sound and performed by Honey Boy. Kathiel performed a dance
for her talent segment to the sound of a punta track entitled
“Ela La” The crowd was satisfied with her performance and wonder how she
can moved her hips in such a manner. She earned the respect of the B.V.I.
audience in attendance which includes Governor David Pearey and his wife.
Kathiel’s costume and evening gown has been made and
designed by Jacqui Koon How of the House of Jacqui in Trinidad and her
make-up was sponsored by SACHA Cosmetics of Trinidad & Tobago two strong
supporters of the Miss Oneness Beauty pageant.
